Data Annotators work under the Data Annotation Senior Managers to label data, maintain quotas, and escalate concerning information. As a Data Annotator, you will play a critical role in the continual success of parents, caregivers, and school administrators keeping their children safe.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be responsible for evaluating and labeling a variety of content such as conversations, audio, video, documents, social media posts, etc., to be used for the development of machine learning applications and to alert parents/schools to abuses presented online.
This is a part-time position. Annotators work 4-5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Hours are primarily scheduled, although there may be some optional flexibility in some situations. You must be able to work holidays, overnight and weekends.
The process of media labeling for risk evaluation requires data annotators to routinely review sensitive, highly disturbing content. Examples include sexually explicit or violent imagery, and/or posts relating to suicidal acts/ideation or self-harm. The work can be mentally taxing. In order to provide sufficient mental breaks, the position is part-time. The ability to avoid overtaxing oneself, maintaining focus and productivity while reviewing content of this nature is an essential function of this position. Bark provides each Data Annotator access to group-based and individual counseling to support in the management of the aforementioned unique demands.
